Ordering a Dress for a Fixed Event Date: Work Backward from the Day
Build a realistic order plan that separates total delivery estimates, inspection, alterations and your own travel.

Choose an in-hand date before an order date
Your wedding or event date may not be the first deadline. If you leave home for a destination wedding, the dress needs to be ready before departure. If a local specialist is doing alterations, their agreed fitting and collection schedule creates another deadline. Start with those real commitments rather than counting delivery days straight back from the ceremony.
Ask the fitter about availability and likely work before setting a plan. There is no universal alteration buffer that suits every dress or specialist. A plain hem and a complex lace adjustment may need different arrangements.
Understand what the store estimate includes
| Service | Current total estimate | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 20–30 calendar days from purchase | Preparation, production and transport are included |
| Expedited shipping, where available | 13–20 calendar days from purchase | A transport option; not priority or rush production |
Check the live shipping and delivery page before ordering because policy details and available services can change. Do not add a separate production period to these total estimates. Ada currently does not offer expedited or rush production.
Orders ship from China. Customs clearance, carrier operations and local delivery conditions can affect actual arrival. A checkout shipping option or an event-date note is not a guarantee that a parcel will reach you by a fixed day.

Ada product examples illustrate visible design details. Check the selected product for current options, construction and sizing.
Work through the schedule in reverse
- Write down the event date and any earlier departure.
- Confirm the fitter’s appointment and completion schedule.
- Set an inspection window before that first fitting.
- Review the current total delivery estimate for the destination.
- Ask customer care whether the specific order is feasible before paying.
Keep the desired in-hand date and the event date separate in your message. This avoids a reply about delivery before the event that does not account for an earlier flight or a necessary fitting.
For group outfits, check each order’s destination and needs individually. One person’s local alterations or travel can create an earlier practical deadline than the rest of the party.
Send the team the details that resolve uncertainty
Include the product link, selected size or Custom Size question, color, destination country, desired in-hand date and event date. Mention any requested design change. Ask about feasibility and available shipping services rather than simply writing “urgent” in an order note.
Before purchase, review cancellation terms as well as delivery. Cancellation refunds depend on the timing of the request under the current policy, and dispatched orders cannot be cancelled under that schedule. Custom Size and design changes also carry ordinary-return restrictions. Read returns and cancellations rather than assuming an order can be undone without conditions.
Once dispatched, use the shipping email’s tracking link. A new number may not show movement until the carrier scans it. If a deadline is critical or updates are unclear, use the contact page with your order number instead of treating the estimate as a confirmed appointment.
Common questions
Does expedited shipping mean rush production?
No. Ada’s current shipping page says expedited shipping refers to transport where available and does not give the order priority in production.
Does entering my event date guarantee arrival?
No. Ask the team to assess the specific product, destination and timing before ordering. Delivery periods are estimates, not guaranteed dates.
